Just a day after Posta Rangers bound duo Eric Kibiru and Victor Ndinya announced their exit, Coast based Bandari FC have released a full list of nine players whom they have released ahead of the 2017 league season.
According to the club's media liaison officer Abdulrahman Mohammed, among those released include dependable full back and national team Harambee Stars trialist Abdulatif ''Achkobe'' Omar and striker Antony Kimani whose contract with the club have expired. Abdulrahman insisted that the criteria used to drop the players was based purely on merit.
-We found no reason to renew the contract of the duo since we have recruited good players who can fill their positions and create a better impact to the team, he stated.
Others released are Ugandan burly striker George Abege, goalkeeper Kennedy Onyanchi, former SA based and Harambee Stars winger turned defender David Gateri, Khamisi Mwamzandi and Abbas Muhiddin. Abdulrahman confirmed the club's players recruitment exercise is still ongoing and a full list of the new signings will be released in due course.
'-We are still in the process of signing good players but after due consultation with new coach Paul Nkata we have decided to hold our hoarse and conceal the names of our new signings like most of our KPL counterparts till the last week, he stated.
The 2017 transfer season closes on January 31 2017.
